The client’s brief included a few specific demands. One was to create a space for relaxation with a Japanese theme, and the other was to include a bar!
A couple of raised beds made from softwood sleepers and plantings areas around the south facing patio offered generous areas to a create calming place to sit and enjoy a beverage from the bespoke bar. The planting areas were filled with Japanese inspired plants whilst allowing space for the client to add their own inspiration.
The black painted pergola offered a strong geometric form to hold the Wisteria and the slatted Larch area gave a much needed shaded area during the times of sunshine. Within the pergolas structure a bespoke bar was installed which can be locked up when not in use.
The Kandla grey sandstone gives the path and patio a durable textured surface which will age nicely alongside the rest of the garden.
A remote-controlled lighting system complements the garden at night, giving an added dimension during the evening, and much needed visibility when mixing cocktails.
